I.P.E.C.

Instituto Permacultura do Cerrado (IPEC) was established in 1999 to create the second permaculture reference center planned for Brazil. A fifty acre parcel was purchased in the colonial town of Pirenopolis in the state of Goias to develop a sustainable demonstration site. Since breaking ground a panorama of natural building techniques, renewable energies, food production and a well established level of community participation have made IPEC a unique example of sustainable development in South America.

I.P.E.P

The Instituto Permacultura e Ecovilas do Pampa (IPEP) operates in the provincial town of Bage, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. It emerged from the work of the dedicated organic agriculturalists who developed the Bionatur seed project, becoming the largest supplier of organic seeds in the country. Considerable experience was gained from working in communities settled by the Landless Movement (MST).

The Organization of Permaculture and Art (OPA) was created in 2004 by multicultural artists and educators of diverse backgrounds who combine their passion and belief in the arts and permaculture to offer sustainable solutions while empowering people and their communities. OPA is based in the city of Salvador, capital city of the state of Bahia, in the northeastern coast of Brazil. OPA emerged from the desire of combining permaculture and arts in order to build bridges between cultural, social and environmental sustainability in the urban setting.
