Denis Ernesto Gonzalez Foundation (FDEG)
FDEG is a non-profit foundation that works towards integrated development
within Nicaragua through programs and promotion of sustainable agriculture,
sports, culture, education, environment and the prevention of drug use.
Their objective is to contribute to a better way of life for the most vulnerable
sectors of Nicaragua. They look to diminish the poverty, unemployment, and
hunger that afflicts Nicaragua. FDEG was founded in remembrance of the student
and athlete Denis Ernesto Gonzalez, an exemplary Nicaraguan youth who died
at 15 years old, leaving behind a strong bond of love and solidarity between
his family, friends, the youth of Matagalpa, and all who knew him. Their
areas of work include:
- Support and development of iniciatives that benefit the most vulnerable
sectors of the population
- Promote good use of natural resources and sustainability, particularly
in agriculture
- Support and develop programs that offer youth opportunities for intellectual
and emotional achievement
- Support local initiatives whose objectives fall in line with those of
the Foundation
